В визуальном исследовании автор предпринял попытку рассмотреть некоторое количество культурных институций. Было выявлено, что, во-первых, достаточно частым приёмом является использование формы фасада здания в логотипе и других графических элементах. Во-вторых, еще чаще используется при разработке дизайна практическая функция в прошлом, даже если в настоящем это не сильно связано с деятельностью институции. В-третьих, даже если не используется образ здания и его функция в прошлом, то культурные институции предпочитают сохранять или аппелировать к прошлому названию пространства. И в-четвертых, в современном мире нередко институции отказываются от прошлого и пытаются создать новую историю пространства.
