Abzaeva is a Russian clothing brand founded in 2020 by designer Nadezhda Abzaeva. The brand focuses on exploring local identity and reinterpreting the cultural code of Buryatia.
The concept is based on adapting the traditions and forms of nomadic culture to the modern urban space, as well as working with themes of shamanism, nature, and the search for connections between the past and the present. The collections incorporate modern technologies, eco-friendly materials, and handcrafted elements.

2018 The designer’s first collection—"Hara Khun» («Black Person»)—was presented at Baikal Fashion Week in December.
2020 The official launch of the Abzaeva brand and the release of the «Wind Blows» collection.
2021 The brand became a finalist in the «New Faces in Fashion» competition by Sobaka.ru and received a grant to participate in Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.
2022 Participation in Moscow Fashion Week (June).
2023 Participation in Fashion Summit BRICS+ (November–December) in Moscow: the brand was featured in a showroom and took part in a public talk about cultural codes.

«My brand is named after my surname—Abzaeva, but this name speaks not just to me personally, but also conveys a vital idea for me—to remember and know the history of my lineage. My paternal family originates from Olkhon Island on Lake Baikal. It is a shamanic lineage, like many people from this incredible place, called the Absay clan (pronounced „abzay“).
Therefore, shamanism is one of the important facets of our lives for me—something that is always present. And in fashion design, I strongly wish to convey this unique sense of the world—of nature, color, texture, form, and time.»
