«On the Pages: The Fashion Writing Lab"—a laboratory dedicated to creating texts about fashion, design, and related topics for aspiring authors—ranging from journalists and researchers to Telegram channel creators—which took place at the GES-2 venue from May 16 to June 15, 2023.

The program was designed for writers who wished to develop their skills in crafting texts about fashion and design, costume history, and the relationship between clothing and society. When developing the concept, we drew inspiration from marginalia—the reader’s notes and annotations in the margins.

Participants in the Lab experimented with a wide range of genres and formats for fashion writing, paying attention to both conventional fashion narratives and themes rarely addressed by fashion critics and researchers.
The Laboratory’s final output was a collection of multi-genre texts: ranging from an exhibition review and an analytical commentary on a collection to an excerpt, essay, and interview with visitors at HES-2 concerning their clothing practices.
