Concept
In this work, I drew inspiration from the sculptures of David Smith and the architecture of Masaharu Takasaki. I designed an art object that takes the form of a labyrinth. The core concept is to illustrate the artists' drive to bring people closer to the unknown—specifically, to space. Because the object is constructed from metal, glass, and mirrors, and is enclosed almost on all sides, the visitor is immersed in an atmosphere of the magical and undiscovered, which is reminiscent of outer space. These materials create reflections and echoes, further enhancing the intrigue of being within the labyrinth.
