The concept and process of work
The series of interior objects «Box», inspired by floral motifs, consists of porcelain non-functional double-walled bowls, identical from the outside, but having different internal volume. The idea of the work was based on the natural geometry of the seed pods of flowering plants. A bowl is a box, a seed, a bud, and a fruit, in a word, a capsule that hides the secret of endless rebirth and the unfathomable beauty of a new life

All objects in the series were created by the method of slip casting of bone china into plaster molds. The bowls are double—walled — hollow inside. Due to this technological feature, a special design of gypsum molds was developed to perform work in the material, which subsequently also allowed experimenting with deformations of cast objects. Driven into strict geometric shapes, porcelain manifested its natural origin, deforming according to its own will and forming a completely new living form. As a result, «boxes» were added to the main strict series, ready to open up and reveal their secret.

Individual object weight: ≈ 0.6 kg, dimensions: 120×120×120 mm Year of creation: 2023 Circulation: a single copy of 36 items, the cost of one «smooth» bowl is 29 tr.; «deformed» bowls are not for sale
