«Poppy» lamps The project’s authors: interior decorator Elena Novoselova and ceramic artist Maria Kone.
Poppy head always attract human attention with its elegance and visual fragility. Considering that each head contains many seeds inside and appears as the true source of life energy, we desired to embody this shape in the light source — the lamp.
There is no ideal shapes in nature, everything is depend on its own natural life processes, every flower is unique and unmatched that is why we decided to fire the ceramics parts in wood firing train kiln. Wood firing is always unpredictable and inimitable, what makes every object to be the real exclusive piece of art. Aeneus parts add contrasts and flashes. We used electric cord in flaxen braiding to support the natural vibes of our lamps.
Assuming the actuality of natural shapes and colours, these lamps would fit comfortably the different styles interiors of country houses as well as city apartments.
