Clothing is armor into which we dress ourselves to battle the gaze of others, earn respect, and conquer hearts.
The references to armor are conveyed through the structure of the look (prints, textures, layering). The chainmail mesh in the hair and the Befree jeans with a tapestry-like print evoke medieval aesthetics. The sleeveless mesh also resembles chainmail—it is the most translucent, corseted, and masculine element of the look.
The top is embroidered with lace across the shoulders. Playful bows rest on the model’s shoulders, resembling a pair of butterflies. These details make the look both delicate and rebellious.
The shirt resembles a skirt if tied at the waist or if the model lets it hang down to the elbows.
It is also another element of layering, which is characteristic of the medieval era.
