A small bird is attached to a large sheet of steel. Its wings are connected to its body by hinges and strike the steel. Here, flight loses space and is confined to the surface; each flap returns the bird to the same sheet, turning the attempt at movement into repetition.

The sound of the impact intensifies and is projected into the space. It enhances the visible stillness because the movement persists through rhythm. The bird repeats the form of a living body, its motion governed by the construction’s mechanics. Flight becomes only a striving toward motion, which generates the sound of its own constraint.
