CONCEPT
Splatoon characters, inspired by marine life, blend human features with the plasticity of squid and octopus, vibrant colors, and expressive silhouettes. The goal is to translate the bright, dynamic, and unique aesthetic of the Splatoon game characters into jewelry design, transforming recognizable elements of the virtual world into standalone pieces of art.
The game features two types of creatures—squids and octopuses—which are presented as the only species to evolve after humans.
Pendant (octopus) — 925 sterling silver, cast in volume and subsequently mirror-polished.
Character eyes — black jewelry enamel or black onyx inlays.
Chain — a delicate 925 sterling silver anchor chain.
Connecting ring and pendant bail — polished 925 sterling silver.
Clasp — silver carabiner.
The necklace is intended to be crafted from .925 sterling silver with a mirror polish. The volumetric metal pendant conveys the character’s smooth, fluid forms, while the reflective surface emphasizes the curves of the tentacles and creates a striking interplay of light. Black enamel inlays highlight the eyes and maintain the recognizability of the game character. The fine silver chain visually balances the massive pendant, making the piece cohesive and suitable for everyday wear.
