In my project, I photographed people in moments when the camera ceased to be their central subject. I wasn’t trying to catch them off guard or elicit a specific pose—my goal was to capture their vulnerability. Sometimes this required waiting or discussing tangential, yet profoundly important, topics: home, memory, fear, hope, and what remains with a person once external roles disappear. Trust arose precisely in those conversations. The project speaks to the value of simple human connection: brief encounters, chance words, and quiet mutual presence—things that are easily overlooked, yet they are what truly bring us close to one another.
