Koschei is immortal as long as the needle is intact. It is inside the egg, the egg is inside the duck, the duck is inside the hare, the hare is inside the chest, the chest is on the oak, and the oak is on Buyan Island.
KOSHEY is the needle: the stroke is thin enough, but each end has a barb. The letters do not fill the space—they pierce it.
